Is your kid not fond of veggies? Do you want to feed him good food yet without forcing him? Here is a simple traditional recipe for your rescue. Try this healthy, colourful and delicious Mini Vegetable Uthappam and watch your kids eating nutritious meal happily without many frets.
Mini Vegetable Uthappam
Mini vegetable uthappam is similar to the customary vegetable uthappam recipe that we all know. I have made very few modifications to make it more appealing for the kids. Like,
- Adding cheese which the kids will enjoy.
- Adding more beetroot which will make it sweeter.
- Using a generous amount of ghee instead of oil to make it crispy and tasty.
- Making it small with the mini uthappam Tawa which you can buy online. This Tawa was actually the main inspiration for this recipe. Kids love everything tiny. So this Tawa will be of great use to make varieties for children.
My twinnies are always excited to have these tiny sweet dosas. Hope your kids will also enjoy this mini veg treat. I will be much happier to hear your feedback.
So please do try and let me know your valuable comments or any additions which will make this recipe even more tempting.

Tips
- If you are new to South Indian Recipes, here is how to make Idli Dosa Batter.
- You can add any vegetable of your choices like cabbage or Green beans, in which case frying the veggies before using it for uthappam will reduce the raw smell.
- Beetroot gives sweetness to the dish, so if you are making it for adults, you can add more pepper to spice up the taste.
- Add cheese before adding the veggies. This is because while tossing the uthappam, cheese may get burnt if it is on the top layer.
- Adults will also love this mini uthappam when you bring in variety. Like, idly podi uthappam, small onion(shallots) uthappam, egg uthappam etc., It is all your innovation that brings out delicious dishes.
