Words from the Expert
Skin, the largest organ of our body is unique in its evolution as well as functions.
The structural elements of skin ( I will be talking about this in detail in my future posts) varies according to the age of an individual. The skin of a newborn is not the same as that of a toddler, which in turn is different from that of an older child and an adult.
Pediatric dermatology as a study is always fascinating. But for parents, it is typically a sensitive area that often bothers them. Being a mother, I am aware how any red rash or an insect bite allergy or a boil or an atopic skin in my child makes me go crazy.
I am very glad to write articles on pediatric dermatology for Twins and Me. Hope I can shed away your agitation about some mysterious skin problems and assist you in providing adequate care for your baby or child skin.
At Twins and Me, I will be discussing certain basic facts about pediatric skin care and also about some common skin diseases in children. You can expect me writing on the following topics in the forthcoming weeks.
The do’s and dont’s in Skincare of Neonates; Care of Diaper area; Bathing fundamentals; Use of Baby care products; The red flag raising skin symptoms in your child and lots more.
